The Jewels Jar was founded in 2017 by Mamta Valrani, an artist turned gemologist who began by designing jewelry for her teenage daughters. Long before she started designing jewelry, Mamta left her career to focus on raising her family – but she craved a creative outlet. She went on to study the art of painting, and deepened her understanding of color, proportion, and light all while raising her three daughters. Those quiet years shaped everything that followed.

Mamta grew up in Jaipur, a city renowned for its craftsmanship. A childhood surrounded by colorful streets and beautiful architecture shaped how Mamta defined beauty. When she moved to Dubai, her creative vision shifted. From the endless desert dunes to the palm trees that wave in the sea breeze, it was in Dubai that she found a new version of femininity that felt effortless yet polished.

Raising teenage daughters meant Mamta was always looking for opportunities to share her treasures with them. But they were all too ornate, too bold, too much. So, she took matters into her own hands. She decided to take her artistic passions into the world of jewelry, starting with becoming a certified gemologist.

Inspired by Jaipur’s heritage of craftsmanship and Dubai’s cosmopolitan elegance, she started The Jewels Jar. She designs each piece to find perfect harmony: unique designs that are still easy to wear. Fine chains, sculptural earrings, celestial themes – jewelry that makes a statement without taking over the entire story.

Jewelry, she believed, should feel personal and intentional, and nothing felt more personal than making it for her own daughters.

The teenage daughters Mamta first designed for are now grown. One of them, Tania, has left her engineering career to become her mother’s business partner, and together they run The Jewels Jar.
